Description
A crispy and flavorful blooming onion made easily in an air fryer. Perfect as an appetizer or snack.

- 1 large sweet onion
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Cut the onion into a blooming shape by slicing off the top, leaving the root intact.
- Carefully separate the petals.
- In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk.
- Coat the onion in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture.
- Spray the onion with cooking spray.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the onion in the air fryer basket and cook for 12-15 minutes until crispy and golden.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

- Use a sharp knife for cutting the onion.
- Adjust spices to taste.
