Description
These Air Fryer Dolma Bites are crispy, herb-filled grape leaf rolls packed with Mediterranean flavor. Easy to prep and healthier than the traditional version, they’re perfect as appetizers, snacks, or part of a mezze spread.
Ingredients
-
25 grape leaves (jarred or fresh)
-
1 cup short-grain rice (soaked and drained)
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
1 garlic clove, minced
-
2 tbsp chopped parsley
-
1 tbsp chopped mint
-
1 tbsp lemon juice
-
1 tsp olive oil
-
½ tsp ground allspice
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
Optional: crumbled feta, pine nuts, or cooked ground meat
Instructions
-
Prepare grape leaves: Rinse jarred grape leaves under water to remove brine. Soak for 10 minutes in warm water, then pat dry.
-
Make the filling: Combine rice, onion, garlic, herbs, lemon juice, olive oil, and spices in a bowl. Stir to combine and let sit 10 minutes.
-
Assemble the bites: Place a grape leaf flat, vein-side up. Add 1 tsp filling near the base, fold in sides, and roll up into a tight mini roll.
-
Preheat air fryer to 375°F. Lightly spray the basket with oil.
-
Air fry bites: Arrange dolma bites in a single layer. Spray tops lightly with oil. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until crisp.
-
Serve warm with tzatziki, garlic yogurt, or lemon tahini sauce.
Notes
-
Use parchment paper or a rack if making large batches.
-
For meat versions, make sure internal temperature reaches 160°F.
