Description
Crispy falafel made in an air fryer for a healthier Mediterranean twist.
Ingredients

- 1 cup dried chickpeas (soaked overnight)
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Drain soaked chickpeas and pat dry.
- Blend chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking soda, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a food processor.
- Form mixture into small patties.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place falafel patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Serve warm with tahini sauce or pita bread.
Notes
- Do not use canned chickpeas—they are too soft.
- Soak dried chickpeas for at least 12 hours.
- If mixture is too dry, add 1-2 tbsp water.
- For extra crispiness, spray falafel lightly with oil before air frying.
