Description

Crispy and flavorful falafel made easily in your air fryer. Perfect for a healthy snack or meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas (soaked overnight)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse soaked chickpeas.
  2. Add chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking soda, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt to a food processor.
  3. Pulse until mixture is coarse but holds together.
  4. Shape mixture into small balls or patties.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Place falafel in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  7. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  8. Serve warm with tahini sauce or in pita bread.

Notes

  • Do not use canned chickpeas—they are too soft.
  • For extra crispiness, spray falafel lightly with oil before air frying.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
