Crispy and juicy katsu chicken made easy in the air fryer.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  5. Place chicken in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  6. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, lightly spray the breaded chicken with oil before air frying.
  • Serve with tonkatsu sauce, rice, and shredded cabbage.
  • Use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs if needed.
