Description
A crispy and cheesy Italian sandwich made with mozzarella and bread, cooked to perfection in an air fryer.
Ingredients

- 4 slices of bread
- 4 oz mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Spread mozzarella cheese between two slices of bread to make a sandwich.
- In a bowl, whisk together egg and milk.
- Dredge the sandwich in flour, then dip in the egg mixture.
- Coat with breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper.
- Brush the sandwich with olive oil.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
- Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket and cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh mozzarella for best melting.
- Press the edges of the sandwich to seal in the cheese.
- Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
