Description

Ingredients

  • 500g beef or lamb, cubed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp Somali spice mix (xawaash)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Marinate the meat with olive oil, garlic, Somali spice mix, cumin, coriander, turmeric, salt, and black pepper. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes.
  3. Place the marinated meat in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  4. Cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  5. Check for doneness and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes if needed.
  6. Drizzle with lemon juice and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

  • For extra tenderness, marinate the meat overnight.
  • Adjust cooking time based on the size of the meat cubes.
