Description
A simple and healthy way to cook a whole snapper in the air fryer for a crispy skin and tender flesh.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 whole snapper (about 1.5 lbs), cleaned and scaled
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Pat the snapper dry with paper towels.
- Make 3 shallow diagonal cuts on each side of the fish.
- Rub olive oil all over the fish, including inside the cavity.
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Stuff the cavity with lemon slices and fresh herbs.
- Place the fish in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Check for doneness (internal temp should be 145°F/63°C).
- Let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Adjust cooking time based on the size of your fish.
- For extra crispiness, pat the skin very dry before cooking.
- You can use other whole fish of similar size.
- Serve with additional lemon wedges.
