- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken , cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Coat chicken pieces in cornstarch, then dip in beaten eggs.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown chicken for 2-3 minutes per side.
- Transfer chicken to a baking dish.
- Mix sugar, ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Pour sauce over chicken.
- Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Serve hot.

- Use fresh chicken for best results.
- Adjust sugar and vinegar to taste.
