  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken , cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Coat chicken pieces in cornstarch, then dip in beaten eggs.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown chicken for 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer chicken to a baking dish.
  5. Mix sugar, ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  6. Pour sauce over chicken.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  8. Serve hot.
