- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 24 milk chocolate kisses, unwrapped
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
- Gradually blend dry ingredients into wet ingredients until combined.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls, roll in powdered sugar, and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- For best results, use room-temperature butter.
- Do not overbake—the cookies should be slightly soft when removed from the oven.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
