Description
A rich and creamy one-pot tomato pasta that’s easy to make and full of comforting flavors.
Ingredients

- 12 oz (340g) pasta
- 2 cups (480ml) water or vegetable broth
- 1 can (14 oz/400g) crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 1/4 cup (60ml) tomato paste
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and sauté until soft, about 3 minutes.
- Add minced garlic, basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in tomato paste and cook for another minute.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, water or broth, and pasta. Stir well.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once pasta is al dente, stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Use any short pasta shape like penne or rigatoni.
- For extra richness, stir in a tablespoon of butter at the end.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
