Instructions

  1. Rinse the black-eyed peas and soak overnight.

  3. Add water, onion, garlic, bell pepper, ham hock, salt, black pepper, paprika, and bay leaf.
  4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Remove the bay leaf and ham hock before serving.
