Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, and 2 tbsp cocoa powder in a bowl.
- Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
- Pour batter into a greased baking dish.
- Combine brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa powder in a separate bowl. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
- Pour hot water over the top without stirring.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until the top is firm.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
- Do not stir after adding hot water.
- Best enjoyed fresh.
