Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 oz uncooked lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef with onion and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce and water.
  3. Add broken lasagna noodles, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Mix ricotta, half the mozzarella, Parmesan, basil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the cheese mixture over the lasagna.
  6. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top, cover, and cook for 5 more minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use Italian sausage instead of ground beef.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for a veggie boost.
