Ingredients

  • 500g knafeh pastry (shredded)
  • 200g unsalted butter (melted)
  • 300g dark chocolate (chopped)
  • 1 cup sugar syrup
  • 1 tsp rose water
  • 1/2 tsp orange blossom water
  • 1/4 cup pistachios (crushed, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Mix knafeh pastry with melted butter until fully coated.
  3. Press half the pastry into a greased baking pan to form the base.
  4. Layer chopped chocolate evenly over the base.
  5. Cover with the remaining pastry and press gently.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Heat sugar syrup with rose and orange blossom water.
  8. Pour syrup over the hot knafeh.
  9. Garnish with crushed pistachios.
  10. Let cool before cutting into bars.
