Ingredients

- 4 large eggs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp chili flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 small tortillas
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Crumbled feta cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and bell pepper, cook until soft (5-7 minutes).
- Stir in garlic, cumin, paprika, and chili flakes. Cook for 1 minute.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Make 4 wells in the sauce and crack an egg into each.
- Cover and cook until eggs are set (5-7 minutes).
- Warm tortillas in a dry pan.
- Spoon shakshuka onto tortillas. Garnish with cilantro and feta.
Notes
- Use ripe tomatoes for better flavor.
- Adjust chili flakes to control spiciness.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
