Description
Crispy falafel made in an air fryer without oil. A healthy, vegan-friendly alternative to traditional fried falafel.
Ingredients

- 1 cup dried chickpeas (soaked overnight)
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Drain soaked chickpeas and pat dry.
- Add chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking soda, salt, pepper, and lemon juice to a food processor.
- Pulse until mixture is coarse but holds together.
- Shape mixture into small patties or balls.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place falafel in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve warm with tahini or hummus.
Notes
- Do not use canned chickpeas—only dried and soaked.
- If mixture is too dry, add 1-2 tbsp water.
- For extra crispiness, spray lightly with oil (optional).
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
